The party that provides something to a customer, according to an agreement.

A provider has one or more customers and one or more suppliers.

From the perspective of a provider, the party delivering something to this provider is called a supplier.

In USM, the term provider is reserved for a party that is aware of being a service provider, while the term supplier is reserved for a supplier that supplies something to this service provider.
