USM specifies a service management architecture and a standard service management system. The principles underlying this service management architecture have been revised and expanded by the USM Management Group, as part of the revision of the Dutch government reference architectures. The new release consists of:

  • a detailing of the set of principles, for better alignment with the principles in those reference architectures
  • a reformulation of the principles, according to the format used in TOGAF and NORA
  • clarification of the positioning of each principle in the USM Customer-Provider Interaction Model

The 2021 edition of the USM principles is published on the USM portal, in Dutch and English.
If you want to learn how these principles can be applied in a service management architecture, then please join us in a free online, 2-hr USM Workshop.
