The SURVUZ Foundation publishes two LinkedIN newsletters on USM:

  • In English: In Control with USM. The USM Newsletter will keep you posted on topics of interest for a sustainable Enterprise Service Management strategy. Contributions can relate to "anything service management".
In Control with USM is the English-language USM newsletter on service management, multi-supplier governance, and how organizations are actually steered. It builds on the USM method and is published from the SURVUZ Foundation in the Netherlands.
The starting point: you don’t solve complexity with more meetings, more roles, or more tools. You solve it with better structure. Each edition takes a familiar problem from practice and looks at what sits underneath it.
Target audience: The newsletter is written for service managers, IT and enterprise architects, consultants, and anyone responsible for services that depend on more than one party. Don’t take the claims on authority: each edition invites you to test them against your own practice.
    Examples of what to expect:

    1. Structure over coordination. Why extra meetings, coordinators, and dashboards rarely fix the problem, and what separates managing from coordinating.
    2. Simplification. Everyone calls for it, but almost nobody says how. One example: the Dutch government’s case-based working catalog lists 316 case types, and all of them fit into 3 of 8 universal workflow patterns.
    3. Tool selection. A service management tool succeeds or fails on 2 modules: workflow and register. Everything else is commodity. What does that mean for your next tender or contract renewal?
    4. Interfaces and multi-supplier work. When several suppliers are involved, the failure rarely sits with one party. It sits between them. What actually crosses that boundary, and who owns it?

  • In Dutch: Structureel in Control.
